The Academy of Food & Wine “Front of House” limerick competition was won by Mr Tony Barnfield, who runs the award winning Nurses Room restaurant and guest rooms near Lymington, Hampshire

Entrants were asked to complete the last three lines of a limerick commencing:

There was a Head Waiter from Bath,
Whose corkscrew was nicked by his staff.

The winning entry

His solution was clear,
Waiter’s Friend’s not too dear,
So- as always – he had the last laugh!

was judged to be the most apt, amusing, and original. Congratulations to Tony who wins a hand forged Laguiole Waiter’s Friend.
